London Jewellery week is a celebration of jewellery, from traditional diamond engagement rings to the most cutting-edge contemporary fashion jewels. Somerset House, one of London’s most historic venues, will be the hub for London Jewellery Week and will provide an opulent setting to view the launch of the autumn/winter 2012 jewellery collections and a first glimpse of ranges for spring/summer 2013.
In a perfectly balanced mix of trade and press previews and two consumer selling shows, along with a host of other activities, London Jewellery Week 2012 is celebrating a year when the eyes of the world will be on London for the Jubilee and Olympic celebrations.
‘Treasure’ is the contemporary Jewellery showcase and one of the cornerstone events of Jewellery Week.
Now in its fifth year, Treasure will be the largest event of this year’s Jewellery Week with over 150 jewellers showcasing visionary design, cutting-edge technology and new talent from the very best in contemporary jewellery design and in the new venue of Somerset House.
The show will provide a platform for pioneering exhibitors from the very best in international contemporary jewellery design.
Curated by Elizabeth Galton, the exhibition will include 'Essence', an ethical & sustainable jewellery pavilion, a new Bridal Trail and an afternoon tea Fathers Day special on Sunday 17th June. There will also be a series of inspirational audiences and talks from some of the brightest stars in the jewellery world.
Launched in 2010, Essence has been at the ethical heart of Treasure for the past two years, it was the worlds first collective show of ethical and sustainable jewellers, hosted the jewellery launch of Fairtrade and Fairmined gold and has gained a reputation for showcasing exceptional designers who successfully marry ethics and aesthetics. With over 50 Fairtrade licensed jewellers and countless others working as responsibly as they can, the organisers have an open call to all responsible jewellers and designers who use their jewellery to make a difference.
This year will once again see the pavilion hosted in association with the Fairtrade Foundation and curated by CRED, the world’s leading luxury ethical jeweller.
