International Jewellery London, the most prominent UK show for the jewellery trade opens today at Earls Court 2 in Kensington.
What can you expect to see there?

Hundreds of the world’s leading brands and designers have stands at IJL and many of them choose to unveil their new collections at the event.  Areas displaying the new designers promoted by ‘Kickstart’, ‘Bright Young Gems’ and the ‘Lonmin Design Innovation Award’ provide a showcase for the freshest design talent, alongside more established jewellers exhibiting excellence in design innovation.

Seminar Programme
IJL offers an unrivalled schedule of fascinating and intuitive seminars for visitors.  A total of 49 seminars are provided over the four days of the event, presented by an array of experts. They cover a range of jewellery related issues from subjects such as online marketing and harnessing social media to technical sessions on gemstones and the finer details of working as an ethical jeweller. There’s certainly something there for everyone – check out the programme here to plan your visit. Amazingly, all of the seminars are free, although the organisers advise that you arrive early as the sessions operate on a first come, first seated basis!

Loose Diamonds and Gem Suppliers
There is a whole area at the show dedicated to gem and bead suppliers, providing an excellent opportunity to examine the stones before you buy.

Tool, Packaging and Display Suppliers
These are also well represented at IJL, making the show a real ‘one stop shop’ for restocking, rethinking and inspiring your existing operation with everything that’s new in the jewellery world. (Don’t forget to say ‘hello’ to Lee Marshall on the Sutton stand!)

Getting In
Remember to take your pass and some ID along with you, or you could incur a £25 fee on the door. It’s too late to register online at this stage, but if you follow the registration link on the IJL website there is the opportunity to print off a page that they say will allow you to claim a complimentary ticket at the door.

Getting  There
The Earls Court Exhibition Centre is within a minute’s walk of two underground stations. Earls Court station is served by all District and Piccadilly lines, while West Brompton station is served by the District line via Wimbledon.  Just follow the signs for Warwick Road on leaving the station.
Buses stopping at Earls Court Exhibition Centre are numbers 74, 190, 328, 430, C1 and C3. For more detailed information click here.
