The ‘Emerging Designer-Maker’ scheme for 2013 has been launched by Living Crafts, with the continued support of craft&design magazine. The aim of this feature is to encourage contemporary, original work from recently qualified designer-makers, promoting and celebrating their talent. If you are a designer-maker who has completed your training or gained a qualification in your field of expertise SINCE MAY 2010, then you are invited to apply for the scheme.

Your work, which needs originality, must be designed and made by yourself in the United Kingdom. All forms of craft will be considered including glass, textiles, silversmithing, ceramics, metalwork and woodwork.

Those selected will be allocated their own space and demonstration area, including furniture and power for the duration of the Living Crafts four day event, held at Hatfield House, Hertfordshire from 9th-12th May 2013.
There will also be the opportunity to have your work featured in forthcoming issues of craft&design magazine.

The feedback from those taking part last year has been very positive.

Jeweller Emily Richard says:
‘Living Crafts was an excellent show for me,
with visitors who are genuinely interested
in craft and the people and processes
behind it.’
