ThNew Ashgate Gallerye Rising Stars touring exhibition and professional development programme is a platform to foster and champion students and recent graduates from BA and MA applied arts programmes across the UK. The programme consists of three parts: the touring Rising Stars exhibition to enable new makers to access the market place; professional development including knowledge transfer and skills exchange, a national symposium; and a publication to act as a promotional tool for the selected makers.

Rising Stars aims to offer new makers their first step into the market place, through a curated selling exhibition that tours to New Ashgate Gallery, Farnham, Milton Keynes Arts Centre, Milton Keynes and Smiths Row, Bury St Edmunds. The scheme also includes a free programme of professional development.

Rising Stars 2014 will be delighted to present an award of £1,000 towards a winner’s professional development, support from a-n, the Artists Information Company, and further exhibition opportunities.

They welcome proposals for three site-specific commissions in each venue. The fee for the commissions is £400 per commission (all-inclusive). Please visit the venue before making a proposal.
